Episode: Burgerwars (S1 E10)

Favorite Moment: Tina falling off the table while trying to kiss Jimmy Jr, who is slow dancing with himself.

Favorite Quote:

Linda: When I die, throw my ashes in Tom Selleck's face!

Bob: That's a crazy request.

Gene: I get it.

I wont lie. I did not remember the over-arching story of this episode. But when reviewing it, there were so many moments that are iconic... but I forgot they happened in Burgerwars.

This is the episode where we see Jimmy Jr slow dancing with himself... and consequently Tina slow dancing with herself

I believe this is also the first time we meet Andy and Ollie Pesto... and find out that the Pesto's are actually the Poplovovich's. This is also the episode where Louise practices voodoo on potatoes.

Burgerwars focuses on the conflict between Bob Belcher and Jimmy "Pesto" Poplovovich. Because the Belchers never pay rent on time, the landlord, Mr. Fishoder, informs them that Jimmy Pesto has put in an offer for their space. He wants to turn it into his restaurant's gift shop.

Jimmy starts selling burgers to steal what few clients the Belchers have. So Bob creates the "Meat-ssiah" and takes samples into Jimmy's restaurant. Sadly the "Meat-ssiah" is not in the cookbook. It's beef tar-tar (IDK) cooked in a burger, cooked in a beef wellington.

The Sound and the Curry is a literary reference, to a novel by William Faulkner. I have never read "The Sound and the Fury", but I have read another book by Faulkner. The title reflected how I felt reading it... "As I Lay Dying." Stream of conciousness is not really my thing... but burgers are.

Like the title implies, the burger is covered in curry sauce. I love curry, so this was a no-brainer for me. I had never made curry for myself though... I cheat and buy a sauce packet and add coconut milk. This thyme there was no cheating.

Start by cooking onion and garlic in butter, then stir in coconut milk, vegtable broth, and a ton of fancy spices I had to buy.

Tumeric, ginger, curry powder, and cayenne... or as I almost always accidently (on purpose) call it: Kanye.

Once the sauce cools you add yogurt to it to thicken it up even more. It also tones down the flavor a little bit, which is good... because when I taste-tested it without yogurt, it was like a punch in the mouth. Probably too much Kanye.

The sauce is poured over the burger and covered with scallions. Scallions are just green onions. I know because I googled that shit at the grocery store.

The Sound and the Curry was my favorite so far... but I expected it would be. The burger is appropriately named... because I have not stopped farting since eating it, and my family is furious.
