This is me now!

I like to think of myself as the man that Gene grows up to be.
I have had friends comment on my outbursts saying: "sounds like something Gene wound say." To which I reply, "No! Gene sounds like me!" Which honestly is a very Gene thing to say.

I have lived in Minneapolis MN for 10 years. Technically I live in Hopkins MN... but who knows or cares where that is? It's 20 minutes from downtown. Don't act like you haven't heard at least 30 people tell you they are from Chicago, when you sure-as-hell know they live in Pewaukee.

I have been married for 7 years. Ironically, or by fate, my wife is named Michelle. (Gene declared in this season that he would name his wife "Michelle.")
We have two boys, Teddy and Gus.

I initially refused to watch Bob's Burgers, on the grounds that everyone was drawn so ugly. Like, if you are going to take the time to draw people give them chins. (I know, super judge-y over here.) But after watching the first couple of episodes I got hooked, mostly because I saw a lot of myself in the humor and situations. So if you haven't already figured it out, I like most writers, am a narcissist.

I throw myself headlong into my passions. In middle school I pretended to be deaf, like Beethoven, and told everyone I was going to be the next great composer. I started college studying piano and writing music. Then I got into theater, then into novels by Stephen King, then the color gray, then trying to convience everyone it should be spelled g-r-e-y.

Somehow I landed with a degree in religion, and decided I was going to be a writer instead. I spent the last 7 years trying to write a very serious novel, about a very serious artist.
This year more than anything I need to do something fun.

So I am cooking my way through the Bob's Burgers Burger Book,

because...

THIS IS ME NOW!
